If hypertension is left untreated and unchecked, it can lead to serous complications. Most of the time, it is not possible for people to report any symptoms of this disorder because the internal organs are managed. The organs or internal parts of the body can be affected if you have high blood pressure and they are heart, kidney, blood vessels and brain. When the blood pressure is high, it can lead to the blockage of the arteries walls which will ultimately result in the reduction of oxygen supply to the heart as well as the brain. As a result, a person with this disorder can suffer from stroke. There are times when people with hypertension may suffer from the rupture of the blood vessels or aneurysm. This happens when the pressure increases in the lining of the vessel walls. It is because this type of disorder has risks involved thatís why it is vital that you take necessary actions to prevent this problem from arising.

It has been found that the best way to prevent high blood pressure is to bring about a change in your lifestyle. When it comes to this, you should follow a healthy diet that should include plenty of vegetables, fruits and foods that are rich in fiber. You should ensure that you do not consume foods that are high in fats and sodium. Believe it or not, but you should also make sure that you stop smoking and drinking because these are unhealthy habits that can lead to high blood pressure. When you consume excess salt and sodium, your blood pressure will increase. Even if you are taking medications for hypertension, they will not be effective if you continue to consume foods that are rich in sodium and salt.

One great way to prevent hypertension is to exercise on a regular basis. If you are overweight then you should take necessary actions to reduce your weight as obesity is not good for health. It is recommended that you teach your kids the importance of healthy eating and living so that you can prevent the development of hypertension.
