By Brown Ezilon.com Articles | Published 05/1/2010 | Beauty |

There are so many cosmetic treatments and creams to help you keep your skin looking young and fresh, that at times it can be difficult to choose from and even very expensive.

There are however other more economical and natural ways to keep your skin healthy without having to spend a fortune.

When your skin turns red and irritated due to the cold weather, you may solve the problem by making a simple banana mask.

Mix the banana in a blender then apply this mixture to the dry and irritated patches on your skin, especially on the face area. This mask will replenish your skin with potassium, which is a mineral we seldom find in canned or processed food. This mask will cure the irritations and reinforce the skin under your eyes and help your skin regain its normal texture.

When we come in from the cold, we all tend to relish in a hot shower or bath. This will obstruct the production of skin oils for some time, so it is important to moisturise the skin regularly. An oatmeal soak is ideal while taking a bath, just prepare an infusion with an old stocking and fill it with a cup of ground oatmeal and a tablespoon of soda, then but it over the baths tap and run the water through your preparation. The oatmeal is ideal for exfoliating the skin, it will rid your skin of dry dead skin cells, thus avoiding any itchiness you may feel.
