Honda Civic Breakdown

No matter what kind of car you drive and where you live, chances are pretty good that youre completely familiar with the Honda Civic. For years, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular cars out there when it comes to safety, reliability, and all-around value. In general Honda Parts can be counted on to create and build top-notch vehicles and virtually everyone out there is aware of the ways in which the Civic meets the toughest demands out there on the road.

Like many vehicles, the Honda Civic offers a number of options when youre choosing a new car to purchase:  youll have choices to make in terms of trim, interior, and even body styles and engines so take some time right now to look over all of your options. To start, youll need to know whether you prefer a traditional and slightly larger four-door sedan or a sportier two-door coupe in terms of body styling. (Keep in mind that the coupe will be slightly smaller both in side and out). To throw a third curveball in there, there is also a gas-electric Hybrid model available so if youre feeling environmentally conscious and want to be on the front line of knowing whats out there, you might want to give this option a try. In terms of safety, youll find that curtain side airbags are a new addition to all Civic models, as is an anti-lock braking system.

Okay, so youve made your choice in terms of body styling. Youre not, however, done yet. If youve chosen a sedan or coupe, you need to choose your trim. All sedans and coupes are available with DX, LX, or top-of-the-line EX trim. The next step, then, is to check out what is available in terms of engine power in each of the models. All Civics offer a four-cylinder engine, but the DX, LX, and EX models offer 140 horsepower (which is greater than the previously available 115-127 horsepower of years past). If you choose to go with an Si coupe, youll get 197 horsepower (an increase from a past figure of 160). If you pick a Hybrid to meet your needs, expect to run with approximately 110 horsepower that comes from a balanced blend of electricity and gas power to give you economy as well as acceleration. In terms of transmission, DX, LX, and EX models will give you a choice between a five-speed manual and a five-speed automatic, while the Si comes with a 6-speed manual. In the Hybrid, youll find a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) that is at the top of its game.
