Michael Jackson was mobbed by hundreds of fans as he arrived at a London theatre yesterday on his first visit to Britain since being acquitted of child molestation charges.

Security staff attempted to clear a path for the 47-year-old pop star as the crowds swarmed outside the Victoria Palace theatre, where he and his children had gone to see the musical Billy Elliot.
The singer stumbled and fell but the party took seats at the back of the stalls, 15 minutes after the show had been scheduled to start. During the interval, Jackson mingled with members of the audience. The scenes echoed similar ones earlier in the day at the Dorchester hotel, where he was staying.
