Cooking with green tea-interesting tips and recipes:

The delicious taste of green tea cheers you up in the morning! You get the “taste of life” sipping on to your favorite green tea cuppa. But do you know that green tea is reported to have a lot of health benefits? You can also bring in green tea to enhance the flavors of exciting recipes. Toss up good health and nutrition in your kitchen by cooking interesting green tea recipes!

Green tea adds a subtle flavor to your dishes. Incorporating green tea in your cooking is an easy method. You can just grab some tea bags and throw them into water while steaming vegetables. Also you can use green tea as a spice while stir-frying. To do this, add dry tea leaves to the heated oil while frying. Cooking rice with green tea makes a lovely dish. Green tea also makes wonderful desserts. Teas that are flavored with lemon, fruit, jasmine or rose can be used in cakes, cookies, ice cream, pudding, smoothies and shakes.

Cooking with green tea will enable you to have various heath benefits. The tea can treat several sicknesses starting from headache to depression. Green tea is a powerful antioxidant that destroys the free radicals in your body. Free radicals can damage the human cells leaving the body amenable to serious diseases like cancer, heart diseases and certain other degenerative diseases. Therefore add green tea in your recipes to repress some life threatening diseases like: Cancer, Cardiovascular disease, Rheumatoid arthritis, High blood pressure, High blood cholesterol, High blood sugar, Impaired immune function and various infections.

To add green tea in recipes first you have to brew the tea. You can do this by the following technique:
• Add a little steaming water in a teapot.
• Swirl the water to make the teapot warm.
• Discard the water and place 2 to 4 bags of green tea in the warm pot.
• Pour 1¼ cups of boiling water on the bags.
• Cover and infuse it for 2 to 3 minutes and then discard the bags.

A cup of strong and distinctly flavored green tea is ready to be used in your cooking recipes.

Here are some tasty green tea recipes for you:

Green Tea Potato Salad

Ingredients:

2 full size potatoes
2 eggs
Mayonnaise
1 teaspoon of green tea powder
Cherries and strawberries (for garnishing)

How to cook:

First peel potatoes and boil it. Also boil the eggs. Make potato and egg mash while they are hot. Keep the mash in a refrigerator till it cools. After taking it out from the refrigerator put the mashed potato and eggs in a bowl to make round shaped pastes. Sprinkle green tea powder on the paste uniformly. Put mayonnaise on potato and egg mixed paste. Garnish it with cherry or strawberry before serving.

Green Tea Chicken Stalk

Ingredients:

1 cup freshly brewed green tea.
2-tablespoon canola oil.
2 tablespoons of ginger root chunks.
1-teaspoon white pepper.
5 cloves minced garlic.
5 green onions.
6 cups canned chicken broth.
3 cups kernel corn.
1-cup chicken

How to cook:
Heat a pan over medium heat and coat it with oil. Add ginger, garlic and green onions and fry for 1 minute. Add chicken to it and cook for 2-3 minutes until it turns brown.

Add the chicken mixture, chicken broth and corn to the tea. Cook and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer and cover it for 40 minutes. Season it with white pepper. Strain the liquid through a container and press out as much liquid as you can. Cool it and pour the stalk into a container. Keep it in a refrigerator to freeze. You can use this great tasting green tea chicken stalk in any other recipes.
