LISBON (Reuters) - Ten Liverpool fans have been arrested on suspicion of using counterfeit money ahead of the first leg of the Champions League knockout round tie against Benfica, Portuguese police said on Tuesday.
Police arrested the 10 at a hotel overnight, police spokeswoman Paula Monteiro said.
"The information we have is that they were here for the game," she said.
About 3,500 Liverpool fans are expected to watch the match at Benfica's Stadium of Light later on Tuesday. Liverpool are the European champions.
