How to organize your closet

We seem to ignore our closets in our home the most. It is often stuffed from one end to the other with clothes, toys, shoes and other items that we are trying to hide. We find that we stuff our closets with these things and we always want to avoid cleaning them out. It is a shame to have a closet that we cannot even see the floor or the ceiling in.

I have some advice to get your closets in shape with little time or effort. You will be amazed at the room you will have when you are done. The first thing that you need to do is to hang up all of your clothes neat and proper on good strong durable hangers. They are inexpensive and can be found at many department stores. You can get one color for you and another color for anyone else that may be sharing your closet.

While you are hanging up your clothes, you should go through them and throw away the ones that you do not use anymore. Give them to good will and this will make more room in your closet for new things. Put pants on hangers that are made for pants and you will be able to hang more of them together. Keep pants with pants, and shirts with shirts and so on.

For shoes, you can buy shoe racks to put on the floor of the closet or you can also find ones that hang over the closet door. This will save you a lot of space and get your shoes organized. You will finally be able to find what you are looking for when you need a certain pair of shoes. Remember to go through your shoes too and get rid of anything that does not fit or that is out of style. There is no sense in keeping shoes that you do not need.

You can install hooks on the inside of your closet to hold items like belts, hats, and purses. You can also install more shelves above your clothes bar for extra storage like blankets and other bulky items. Don’t forget if you are going to store items for a long time, use plastic bags or some type of covering so you can keep the dust and dirt off the items that you are storing so they will look great and smell great when you want to use or wear them the next time.

When you are trying to store seasonal clothes away in the closet, try putting them in the sealing bags that shrink down by using your vacuum to take the air out to them. This will be a huge space savor in the closet and also allow you to store away more clothes.

Once you have your closet all organized and ready for you’re to start using, do not let it get overstuffed ever again. Make sure that you control what you put in the closet and do not use it as a storage space for unwanted items. Get rid of the junk and keep your belongings neat and tidy. This will save you precious time by not having to search for the things that you want.
