Compulsory fibers for a complete superfood

Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and proteins do a lot for your diet. These essential nutrients are the core of the superfood family. How do these fibers relate with superfoods? Is fiber another nutrient? Rather it is a complete food that contains these nutrients and thus is regarded as a superfood.

Fiber is something your body needs for proper digestion and proper excretion. A sufficient amount of roughage is needed to maintain the water content of the body, preventing you from dehydrating. Fibrous vegetables and fruits contain a lot of roughage. The mineral and vitamin content of the fibrous fruits and vegetables is quite rich. Considering all these factors, fiber has been given a key status in the superfood ingredient list.

Take a close look at these things, which are fibrous.  They are considered to be superfoods:

Broccoli and berries: Broccoli and cabbage are rich sources of fiber and great to eat if steamed and cooked properly. They are also known as cruciferous vegetables and supply your body with carbohydrates that are easily digestible. Medical research has said that it is important to increase fiber in your regular diet. If you include superfoods in your diet, with low fat and low calories, the risk of cancer and heart disease can be checked to great extent.

Berries are rich in antioxidants that control and reduce the production of free radicals, hereby keeping you fresh and young. Blueberries, blackberries and raspberries help to give your skin a healthy glow by keeping your digestive system active and by making you fresh from within.

Green vegetables and citrus foods: There is a big list to serve your purpose. Green leafy vegetables like spinach, lettuce and kale have been regarded as great superfoods. They have a good amount of fiber in them and their components like beta-carotene, lutein, vitamin B complex, and minerals like magnesium and potassium support you in your good health. Green vegetables have an all round capacity to serve the requirements of all age groups. Children who have a problem in eating green vegetables must be convinced and compelled to eat them. If a chunk of chocolate is reduced from their diets, there will hardly be a problem, but if green vegetables are ignored, the problem in health might be a lifelong burden. It is a cautionary note to parents.

Among the citrus fruits, oranges, lemon and grapes serve as fibrous superfoods. They are rich in folic acid and potassium. Vitamin C is an obvious component by virtue of being citrus in nature. These fruits can be eaten in raw form, as well as juiced. Have them any way you like, but dont skip them from your diet.

The association of fibers and antioxidants is very close. Both are prime elements in the makeup of superfoods. No one is suggesting you only eat fiber. If you can adapt the superfood style, though, you will find more fiber automatically being incorporated into your daily diet. Just try it!
