What Important Factors Older Women Should Take Into Account To Look And Feel Younger

Many older women think that getting older is synonymous with feeling older, which is not at all the case.

Research on this issue has proven that women in their fifties can actually regain the youthful vigor they had in their twenties, just by choosing to live in the right way.

While physical exercise is an important factor in maintaining a youthful appearance and vigor, it is not the only one.

Improved sleep and dieting

The way older women sleep, eat, and supplement will make a considerable difference in the way they look. Sleep is one of the most important factors if older women want to look and feel younger.

The body is revitalized by good, sound sleep, as is the mind, which diffuses any stress accumulated during the day.

During sleep, our body secretes melatonin, cortisol, and other hormones, which help repair cells and burn fat. Improved sleep hygiene will do wonders for older women who wish to look younger and fitter.

Not all sleeping habits are good ones, for example watching television in bed is not beneficial, for the noise emitted will increase your alertness and make sleep difficult to attain, you must also avoid working on a computer or writing late in the evening for your brain will still be running a few hours later, hence make sleep difficult to come.

Once awake in the morning, you should get up straight away, for lounging in bed will only get you to bed later in the evening.

Older women should change their sleeping hour habits, it is best to go to bed earlier and wake up earlier when you are older, the sleep will be more reinvigorating than if you go to bed late and wake up late.

If the room temperature is slightly higher than usual before you go to bed, this will lower your body temperature and help you fall asleep quicker and more deeply. A hot bath an hour before your bedtime will also help to lower your body temperature and help sleep come quickly.

The pillow you use is also very important for good quality sleep, you need firm support for your head, neck and spinal cord; a bad pillow can cause stiffness and restless sleep, and you will end up feeling tired and lacking in energy.

Regular Exercising

Exercising is also fundamental to keep an older woman looking and feeling younger. The aging process goes hand in hand with reduced exercising and inactivity over a certain period of time. A proper sporting activity can take off up to fifteen or twenty years from an older woman.

Exercising must be regular but not necessarily too forceful, the important factor is that the muscle tissue is to be kept toned up and flexible.

So, with improved sleeping habits, regular exercising, and a balanced diet, older women can look and feel years younger than they really are.
