Hypertension, or high blood pressure as it is commonly referred to as, is one of the health diseases that is the cause of many deaths in the world.

Not only are millions of people the victims of disorder, there are also many people who are in the borderline of hypertension.

Those who are suffering from this problem has higher chances of developing other health diseases like stroke, heart attack, kidney problems and other cardiovascular problems.

If you are suffering from high blood pressure or hypertension, you should make sure that you stay away from alcohol no matter how much you crave for it. This is because alcohol is not recommended for people with hypertension.

In fact, many of you may not know this but it has been reported that the consumption of alcohol is one of the causes of high blood pressure in the first place.

There are many reasons why this problem develops in people and while it is also true that hypertension is heredity in nature, those who drink excessively can also suffer from this disease.

It may not be easy for you to give up alcohol if you have been drinking for a long time and you are used to drinking alcohol.

On the other hand, if you want to live a better live and a life free from high blood pressure, you should try your best to stay away from alcohol.

While I would advise you not to touch alcohol at all, but if you cannot live without alcohol then experts recommend that men should not take more than two drinks and women should not take more than one drink.

Different kinds of drinks are different. For instance, five ounces of wine or twelve ounces of beer equals to one drink.

By following this, you can prevent the development of hypertension or high blood pressure.

You see, when you drink excessive alcohol, it will affect the liver and disturbs the way it metabolizes enzymes.

These enzymes are important for controlling the blood pressure so this will lead to high blood pressure or hypertension.

Alcohol also has the tendency to congest the liver and this will result in the blockage of the blood delivery to blood vessels.

So, irrespective of whether you have high blood pressure or you simply wish to prevent this disease from developing, you should make sure that you stay away from alcohol.
