Blogging For Businesses

Whether you are part of a major corporation, a small business owner, or a home business owner, you and your business can benefit from blogging.

In fact, you can benefit from business blogging in numerous ways no matter what type of business you have.

Blogging software has made it very easy to blog. Blogging does not have to be a time-consuming activity. All it takes is a paragraph or two, hit the submit button, and you are done until you are ready to write the next blog post.

You can share business news, resources, or even trackback to related blogs that belong to other people or businesses.

You can use a business blog in place of, or in addition to, a business website. Business websites are much harder to set up and maintain.

You can use your blog to promote your business website as well, or vice versa. You do not need to know HTML or hire an expensive web designer or webmaster to maintain your blog.

You can use your blog as a consulting tool, which in turn will bring you more new business, as well as more repeat business.

This is an effective way to offer the ultimate customer service, which will be highly valued by your customers both old and new alike.

A business blog allows you to build a community with your customers and potential customers, and potentially with your employees as well in the case of larger businesses.

Blogs also get higher search engine rankings, in a shorter amount of time, than traditional webpages. This is due to the fact that they are updated much more often and therefore indexed more often.

Instead of just looking at static, well-planned webpages, your customers can actually see that you are a real person with real thoughts, opinions, ideas, and information.

They can communicate with you via the comments that they leave when you make blog posts. They actually feel like they are a part of something and everybody wants to feel like they are part of something.

A business blog is also a way to build trust and credibility. Your customers and potential customers will see that you have an ongoing in person web presence, and also that you really do know what you are talking about.

Because blogs are so easy to maintain and update, you can update your blog daily or just weekly if you choose.

The important thing is that you do update it regularly so that your customers know that you are still around.

You don’t have to write your business blog posts yourself. You can hire someone to do it for you, or assign the task to one or more existing employees.

However, it is a good idea to make your own posts from time to time as well. Again, this lets customers know that you are still in touch with your business, and with them and that you do have their best interests at heart.

If writing isn’t your strong point, you can also have a ghostwriter write your blog entries for you, and sign your name to them. This is honest as long as your ghostwriter is writing what you wanted to say yourself.
