How Pets Can Help You Keep Your Heart Younger And Healthier

It is now widely accepted and has been for years, that high levels of stress and psychological anxiety will finally lead to heart and cardiovascular disorders unless the level of stress and anxiety is treated.

Recently, a professor from the Minnesota Stroke Institute at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis is suggesting that pets may also find benefits from the relief of these damaging factors as well as their owners.

Pets are in fact known to diminish the stress level in humans by providing an additional pleasure with the affection they offer their owners.

Research by the American Heart Association demonstrated that even a short interchange of less than 15 minutes with a pet could decrease the risk of lung and heart dysfunctions in people who were already affected by these problems.

People owning cats also proved to have a lower percentage of fatal heart attacks.

It has in fact been demonstrated that there is a thirty percent less chance of heart attacks, in all those people owning pets.

People with pets have been known to show significant improvements related to cardiovascular problems as opposed to other people without pets.

Therefore although this decreased rate had been predicted, experts were surprised at the extent pets could actually influence these health problems.

A pet can really contribute to maintaining your heart healthy and young, as it has also been proven that they are a great stress-release source.

In fact, the purring of cats has been known to calm down any stress-related issues and create a more relaxing atmosphere in your house’s environment.

Another issue to consider is all the extra exercise you will be getting with your pets, especially if you own a dog, which needs to be taken for regular walks.

Most of us know how healthy, just thirty minutes of brisk walking can be for our overall body functions, it is also a great way to relax and take advantage of the landscape and natural surroundings, if you live in the country or close to a park.

All the love and tenderness that pets can transmit to their owners, is the key to a healthy heart.

Pets are always willing to please and are ready for a cuddle whenever we are available, in addition to this, having to take care of pets once your children have left the house to live their own life, will help you get over that difficult hurdle that comes after a certain age.

People often feel down and no longer of use, whereas having a pet will help them regain their lost status and make them feel they are needed once more.
