Detailed Physical map of Mongolia showing the gobi desert, steppe and mountains, elevations and other topographic features. Mongolia shares borders with China and Russia. 1,564,116 square
kilometres is the total area of Mongolia and it ranked
at number nineteen in terms of land area.
The westernmost point of the country is only thirty
eight kilometres away from Kazakhstan but it does not
share any land borders with this country. Because of
having 250 sunny days a year it is known as Land of the
Eternal Blue Sky.
Uvs Lake which is shared with Russia as well is the
natural World Heritage Site. Gobi is very easily
destroyed by grazing and this is resulting in the
transformation of the Gobi in the real desert. Even
Bactrian camels can’t survive in such harsh conditions
of the true Gobi desert. It is an arid land with no
sufficient vegetation and agriculture to support
livestock.
