The fat-soluble vitamins on the other hand are stored in your body. These remain stored in the liver and the fatty tissues. That is why these vitamins are needed in a very small amount in your body.

Be careful while consuming any form of fat soluble vitamin. As these are stored in the body, there are high chances of gaining extra amounts of these vitamins either through the supplements or through the natural dietary products.

If you take vitamin supplements containing mega doses of vitamins A, D, E or K, the result can be otherwise. This can cause the toxicity of these vitamins in your body.

Vitamin A is an essential nutrient that is needed to keep your eyesight healthy. It also helps in the process of the growth of the bones, the formation of teeth and some times in the cell division.

The good sources for vitamin A are fortified milk, dairy products, egg yolks, etc. Vitamin A deficiency may lead to night blindness, impaired vision, and also some skin diseases.

Vitamin D also plays a crucial role in your body. It is essential for the intake of calcium and phosphorus in your body. Vitamin D helps your body to absorb these essential minerals.

This especially needed for the children for their healthy growth of the teeth and bones. You will find a great amount of vitamin D in various fruits and vegetables.

These include milk, dairy products, fishes that contain oils, cod liver oil, egg yolk, etc. vitamin D deficiency can cause you irritability, weight loss, nausea, and also some other problems.

You also need a small amount of vitamin E that in fact works as an anti oxidant. This fat soluble vitamin protects the red blood cells and the fatty acids from destruction.

The deficiency of this vitamin can lead to weight loss in the infants and also cause anemia. You will get a lot of vitamin E from the green and leafy vegetables, the whole grain products, nuts, and egg yolks, etc.
 
Don’t forget another important fat-soluble vitamin, vitamin K. It is naturally produced by your intestinal bacteria. It plays an essential role in the process of blood clotting and also in the formation of strong bones.

The rich sources of this vitamin are green vegetables, cabbages, broccoli, cauliflower and also spinach.

Beware! Just take a note of the right dose and any extra bit in your bite may make you pay more. Similarly, their deficits cannot be overruled.
