There are many different kinds of Easter traditions that people celebrate. A tradition is something that a family or group of people does every time that certain occasion happens together.

It does not matter what the tradition is that you and your family or friends do, as long as you are celebrating together. 

You choose one certain thing that you think is special or you can choose to do a whole group of things for your Easter tradition.

  • Easter dinner

Many families like to have a simple tradition like eating Easter dinner together.  This is a very important tradition and will mean a lot to all of the members of your family and friends.

You can plan for a certain day like the actual holiday or a day that is better for everyone to attend. You can all be responsible for a certain dish or bring along one favorite item every time.

Make a list of everyone and all the dishes and see what you need from there. This will be a special time for everyone to get together and catch up.

  • Easter lamb

During Easter, lamb is the most popular meat as it is believed that if Jesus had eaten meat on his Passover meal, that meat would be lamb.

Families and friends maintain the Easter tradition of eating lamb every Easter. They can serve it in many delicious ways.

  • Plant Easter garden

Basically, because of the fact that Easter falls during the onset of spring, most families maintain the Easter tradition of planting Easter garden every Easter season.

Families therefore, enhance their yard with varieties of flowering plants. These plants can be either edible or just used for decorative purposes. Marigolds, pansies etc. can be considered.

  • Easter egg bread

Some families and group of friends make Easter egg bread their Easter tradition. This Italian Easter egg bread is made and colored hard boiled eggs are placed on the freshly baked bread.

It gives delight to see family and friends have a great Easter feast with the bread. The eggs can be dyed in any color of choice.

  • Hot cross buns

Hot cross buns are Swiss rolls sprinkled with raisins and then having a mark of the cross on its top.

These buns are usually prepared among families and friends on a week before Easter Sunday. It has been the Easter tradition of most families as the buns are greatly enjoyed.

This tradition was known to have started in the 12th century by a monk who drew cross on his buns in celebration of Good Friday.

Another record was of an old woman who sells hot cross buns on Good Friday dated back in 1730s.

  • Easter candy

Easter candies are usually rewards given to children after the Easter egg hunt. The candies like chocolates and varieties of other sweet is a common Easter tradition.

Verities of companies now make the candies with jellies and give them other ranges of shapes.

  • Easter cake

Every Easter, almost all families bake cake as their Easter tradition. Most times families and friends do not negotiate this tradition every Easter.

In honor of the bunny, most families make their desert with a carrot flavor. Members of the extended families can exchange cake the same way friends do too.

  • Egg time machine

Egg time machines are plastic eggs in which kids can write their thoughts on a paper and put the write ups inside the egg to be opened the next years Easter.

Families with your children maintain this tradition even as the children have grown older. It is a fun way of celebrating Easter with family.

The write up is usually a letter to him or herself and when opening the letter on the next years Easter, it is usually a great fun as the child reads his or her words a year ago to see how far he or she has grown.
