Where To Find Good Halloween Stories

If you are a big fan of Halloween chances are that you like Halloween stories. Sitting around and telling a scare tale on Halloween can be a thrilling and terrifying experience.

However, the art of storytelling is not something that everyone can do. Some stories turn out unbelievably lame and end up not being scary at all.

In order to make sure that this does not happen you have to find some good Halloween stories that will capture and frame the mood on this scary night.

The first place you should look for good Halloween stories is within. Yes, it sounds a bit corny, but at some point in your life, you should have heard a story that literally made your skin crawl. Maybe it was in grade school or one summer at camp. Whatever the case, check inside your memory bank for a great story that is sure to scare all those gathered.

Word of mouth referrals work for many businesses so why can’t they work for stories? Ask around about some good Halloween stories and see which ones wickedly walk your way. In fact, friends and family are a great resource for scary stories.

There are many television shows that are dedicated to providing information about hauntings and ghosts. If you watch a few of these programs you will find plenty of scary material. If they don’t have anything to do with Halloween you can use your own creativity and change some of the details. Sometimes the images on these shows can help your creative juices flow!

You can also check the Internet. Just performing a web search for good Halloween stories should get you some excellent results. There are thousands upon thousands of Halloween stories on the web. Read through a bunch of them and pick out a few that really strikes your interest. Then, you can change or alter the stories to make them even better! If you encounter a story that you think is flawless, keep it that way.

One of the best places to look for Halloween stories is the library or your local bookstore. Oftentimes, these places will have complete volumes dedicated to scary Halloween stories. There are many anthologies that have just the material you are looking for. If you go to a bookstore, however, you may have to purchase the material, or you can commit a few stories to memory if you don’t wish to buy the book.

Halloween stories are a great way to give kids a scary treat or to liven up a sagging Halloween party. Gather everyone around in a circle, dim the lights, and maybe light a few candles. Make sure a Jack O’Lantern is lit and begin your tale.

It is a good idea to practice a bit before you tell your story; after all, you do not want to ruin the mood with poor delivery. It is a good idea to have a couple of dry runs or tell your story with a limited audience so you know that it isn’t going to flop.
