Changing Brainwaves With Breathing Techniques

It is possible to change brainwave patterns by learning simple breathing techniques. These techniques involve using deeper and shorter breaths in different sequences to achieve relaxation.

When relaxed, the brain will allow for new information to be processed quickly. People who are relaxed will also benefit from increased memory retention and recall. These are two very important skills that people use every day and that can be enhanced through slow and easy breathing.

Breathing techniques are based on sleep and alert patterns made by brainwaves. There are different levels of sleep and relaxation that people need to recognize in order to be able to reach them through breathing exercises.

It is important to observe these different stages of sleep that one feels when going to sleep at night. This will give one a sense of relaxation they should be achieved through the breathing exercises.

When meditating, it is important to notice the position of the body, how fast the mind is moving, and how long is will take to become fully relaxed. There are many meditation tapes and CDs available that contain music that is soothing and relaxing.

This music will also help synchronize the brain and cause it to act as one instead of two halves. Since breathing can speed up or lower the heart rate which affects brain waves because blood must flow to the bran in order for it to continue to function, taking deep breaths will allow the body to relax and feel calm.

The brain waves will mimic those of the first two levels of sleep. This is where a person is not fully asleep, but they are not moving as much either.

By taking shorter breathes, the blood in the body will speed up slightly which will alter the brain waves. This is the type of breathing that is done while awake and at the most conscious level.

People who want to stay at this level should maintain a steady breathing pattern. Those who want to enter into the subconscious should begin to take longer and longer breaths.

For those who want to meditate and alter their brainwave, they should plan on at least thirty minutes of breathing exercises. The body will need enough time to relax.

If the process is rushed, then a person will feel anxious, which will defeat the purpose. Finding a quiet room will also help one relax. Being free from distractions will help the meditation process work more effectively.

Meditation will only work for a short time. Brainwaves will resume their normal patterns once the relaxation session is over and breathing has returned to normal.

These exercises can free the mind of negative energy, will help a person focus on issues that are important, and will help people find solutions to problems in their lives.

Mediating every day will give a person a new perspective on their lives and will improve their overall health by lowering blood pressure, easing anxiety, and keeping the brain active, which is one way to combat depression.
