Whispers Of Tradition Behind Thanksgiving

Originally, Thanksgiving has been associated with food and frolic. This particular period in November is the season to relish large dinners with family members and friends. Of course, giving away gifts with touching messages is an integral part of the celebration.

You must know that the historical importance of Thanksgiving Day is associated with the harvest hour where prayers of gratitude were offered to God.

This makes one point quite clear – Thanksgiving is closely related to human existence and livelihood.

Even today, the dining part of the ceremony holds primary importance along with various other ways of celebration.

The traditional dinner will be enjoyed together with a large group. In New York, there is the Salisbury Mills, where the traditional dinner calls for a large participation, and every cuisine is prepared with their original flavors.

The participants engage themselves in the food preparation process with cakes with well-decorated icings as a major attraction.

You will simply marvel at the designs before you even take your first bite. Turkey and beverages add to your appetite.  After all, you have been waiting for this moment for a whole year!

Traditional celebrations from different corners

In Plymouth, Massachusetts, the land from where Thanksgiving Day originated, the traditional culture of the Americans is celebrating with a grand dinner where everyone is in a gala, festive mood.

At the onset of the day, a parade is conducted with marching bands and people from all corners of life participate. It is fun and, at the same time, you really feel proud to be a part of the traditional march.

The very popular Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade is a prominent event in New York City, which circles around the Midtown Manhattan area. Being celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, Thanksgiving Day comes as the indicator that the festive season has begun. A month later is Christmas. Therefore, Santa becomes a part of the Thanksgiving march as well, with a message of new hope.

Food and football might not have been combined when Thanksgiving Day actually commenced, but traditional sports events were, of course, present.

In modern times, football games are of primary importance in both America and Canada. The traditional spirit of Thanksgiving is made even more popular with football. This year, the American Football League will celebrate this occasion with a Football Championship game.

This is certainly a day in the year that is awaited by everyone for the frolic and celebration that this time of year creates, while remaining intertwined with the traditional.  It is an honor to be a part of it!
